All parents are advised to read the “First Steps – Admission to Primary School:a guide for parents” booklet before submitting an application for a Reception place, or the “In Year Application Guide”. Both guides are published by Cambridgeshire County Council and provide families with all the information regarding the admissions process for Histon and Impington Infant School.
A copy of this guide, and information about how to apply for a school place is available from the County Council website.
All children have the opportunity to visit the school in the summer term before admission in September. In line with Local Authority policy, we have one main intake a year to our Foundation Stage classes and admission depends upon the availability of places.
Children are admitted to the Foundation Stage classes in the September prior to their fifth birthday. The admissions criteria are set by the Local Authority who is also responsible for allocating places.
Please contact the admissions office at Shire Hall if you would like further details concerning admissions. The school office should be contacted to arrange a visit to look around the school and talk to the head teacher.
