Who are We?

The PTA is a group of parents and teachers who work together to find ways to improve the experience of our children as they progress through the Infant School.  We want our children to have a wonderful time here and are ambitious in our aims. To this end the PTA organise events:

– to raise money and

– to build a community of families where everyone is welcome.

Raising money

With the money it has raised and amongst many other things, the PTA has:

– provided the play equipment at the Infant and Junior school sites

– bought the stage for school productions

– furnished the school with ipads, beebots, musical instruments and many other small things that make a big difference to the children.

The PTA Committee and the school work together to decide where the money should go. The school’s input is vital in decisions about spending the money the PTA raises.

Building a community

Our social events give parents opportunities to talk, to discuss their children’s experiences, to build friendships and to meet other parents. This community has enabled the PTA to harness Parent Power which has recently:

– dug out and built the play area around the Foundation Stage classrooms and

– created the garden for Year 2s.

We will ask and ask

As parents we are the ones who care most about our children’s schooling. Helping with PTA events is a positive way of doing this.  This is why the PTA will ask and ask again for help from parents.  It is also lots of fun and you get to do things you’re not normally allowed to!

Everyone is welcome

The PTA Committee meeting times are on the School Newsletter and Facebook page (HIISA PTA).  We love seeing new faces and are always happy for you to attend even if you can only make occasional meetings.

For those of you who don’t want to join the committee, we also always need help at events. If you can spare an hour or so before, during or after an event please do say ‘yes’ every now and again. Without this help we cannot run the events.

If you would prefer just to donate money please make cheques payable to: HIISA PTA

Donations directly to the school are also welcome. The office can provide a list.
